Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The project is relevant due to growing potential and significance of the Murmansk region for Russian and international economy in connection with its geopolitical position as well as implementation of such large-scale projects as development of  Shtokman  gas and condensate field,   Murmansk Transport Hub (special economic port zone), construction of the second stage of  the Kola Nuclear Plant,  building of new mining enterprises and other projects. The project focuses on attracting investments into industrial sector of economy of the Murmansk region  and related services (consulting, engineering, etc.), promotion of creating  industrial of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) oriented to manufacturing of industrial products based upon modern technology in the sphere of gas and oil, transport, electricity, building, fisheries, mining industries, housing and communal services.

One of the project goals is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the European companies in the sphere of development and implementation of new technologies in order to strengthen industrial sector and related services provided by SMEs in the Murmansk Region.

Information about the companies considering the opportunity to be at the market of the Murmansk region will be published in the European Company Profile Catalogue for cooperation with companies of the Murmansk region, which is formed according to application forms filled by the interested parties and referred at the address of the North Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The first Catalogue was issued in March 2011. The Catalogue will be published on a permanent basis. We plan to issue the second part of the Catalogue in the end of August.

Foreign companies participating the Catalogue will have the opportunity to participate in the B2B meeting with the companies of the Murmansk region, individual meetings with representatives of business circles and local authorities, as well as to obtain relevant business information including information about doing and starting business in Russia. According to information about your company, we will collect offers from SME’s of the Murmansk region.

The companies interested to take part in this project will be given information about the opportunities to arrange offices and manufactures in the Murmansk region, as well as proposed to consider premises at the territories of industrial parks being built: Industrial Park in the city of Monchegorsk, Techno park “Northern Crystals” in Apatity town.

In accordance with the Program on establishing of industrial parks in the Murmansk Region the government support will be provided to activity of the parks and the parks’ residents.
