10-11 November, 2011 the 1^st International Conference “Mining Industry – View to the Future” took place in Kirovsk (Murmansk Region).

Mining complex of the Murmansk Region is the leading branch of the regional economy, it provides mining and processing of many minerals (iron ore, apatite ore, vermiculite ore, phlogopite ore, brazilite ore and nepheline ore), besides industrial production of cooper, nickel, cobalt, semi-products of precious metals, prime aluminum.

The Conference is supported by the RF Ministry of the Natural Recourses and the Governor of the Murmansk Region.

Goals of the Conference:

To promote modernization of the mining complex of the Murmansk Region on the basis of new ideas and innovation technologies, to attract investments and promotion of the positive image of the Region to abroad;
To estimate possibilities for increasing international cooperation in the sphere of mining industry;

The Conference will be opened on the 10^th of November with the plenary session, where reports and presentations of the CEOs of mining enterprises, officials, bankers and scientific researchers are very welcomed.
